Volunteer Policies & Procedures

In order to work well with the staff and to present doGOODthings, Inc. in the best possible light, we ask that you adhere to the following policies and procedures while you are on duty as a volunteer.  Failure to comply may result in you being relieved of your volunteer assignment.

They must show a genuine concern for the organization, and a willingness to get dirty, and pitch in wherever needed.  The ideal volunteer is self-motivated, mature, sensitive, dependable, a team player, and reliable.

Requirements:

Volunteers must agree to represent doGOODthings, Inc., in a positive light, and perform in a professional manner whenever doing so.  They must further agree not to allow their personal views and opinions cloud (overshadow) or conflict with doGOODthings, Inc.’s purpose.

Time Commitment and Scheduling:

We ask each of our volunteers to sign up for as many duties (hours) as commitments permit. Volunteer hours are flexible.  Once you have agreed to be available for a particular shift, we count on you to be there.  In the event you are unable to be at your shift, please call the volunteer coordinator at 770-714-8262.

Your appearance and conduct will reflect that of doGOODthings, Inc.  We require that all volunteers wear clothing that does not attract negative/undesired attention (i.e., miniskirts, flesh baring shorts, extremely tight bottoms, clothing items with political or provocative statements, or provocative photos/art).  Volunteers with inappropriate attire will be prohibited from volunteering that shift. Volunteers may be required to wear nametags while on duty.

Customer Relations:

The success of our organization depends upon the quality of the relationship between doGOODthings, Inc., volunteers, sponsors, donors, and the general public. Our sponsors’/donors’ impression of doGOODthings, Inc. and their interest and willingness to support us is greatly formed by the people who serve them.  In a sense, regardless of your position, the more goodwill you promote, the more our sponsors/donors will respect and appreciate all that is done through doGOODthings, Inc.

Smoking policy:

As per state law, smoking is prohibited inside buildings, and we ask that our volunteers refrain from smoking altogether while on duty at any event.

Misappropriation of Supplies:

There will be no removal of the organization’s property without prior approval.
